Retire with a plan you understand.
Brindlewood Wealth Advisors helps people within ten years of retirement, and already retired, turn what they have saved into income that lasts. We are paid only by you, our fees are on this page, and every recommendation is explained in plain English.
Three kinds of people walk through our door.
We keep the practice small on purpose. Each advisor works with a limited number of households, so the person who built your plan is the person who answers the phone.
Within ten years of retirement
You have saved well, and now the questions change. When can I stop? How much can I spend? What do I do with the 401(k)? We answer them with numbers, not guesses.
Already retired
You want a steady paycheck from your savings, tax bills that do not surprise you, and someone watching the details so you do not have to.
After a life change
A spouse has passed, a business has sold, an inheritance has arrived. The decisions are large and the timeline is short. We slow it down and take them one at a time.
One plan, every piece connected.
A retirement plan is not a pie chart. It is a set of decisions that depend on each other. We make them together, and we put the plan in writing.
- Retirement income plan. Which account to draw from, in which order, and how much each year.
- Investment management. Low-cost, diversified portfolios built around the income plan, rebalanced on a schedule.
- Tax-aware withdrawals and Roth conversions. Planned with your CPA, or with Margaret, who is one.
- Social Security and pension timing. The claiming decision, run both ways, before you file.
- Estate and insurance coordination. We work with your attorney so the beneficiaries, titles, and documents match the plan.
What it costs, before you ask.
Ongoing management is a percentage of the assets we manage for you, billed quarterly and shown on every statement. A one-time plan is a flat fee. There is nothing else.
| Assets we manage | Annual fee |
|---|---|
| First $1,000,000 | 0.90% |
| Next $2,000,000 | 0.70% |
| Above $3,000,000 | 0.50% |
The rates are tiered: a $1,500,000 household pays 0.90% on the first million and 0.70% on the next $500,000. Household minimum $500,000. The fee covers the plan, investment management, reviews, and all questions in between. It does not include fund expenses or custodian transaction costs, which are disclosed separately.
For anyone who wants the plan and will manage the investments themselves. Two meetings, a written plan, and 90 days of follow-up questions.

Ask about your situationFrom first call to a plan you can act on.
Introductory call
A short call to hear what you need and tell you plainly whether we are the right fit. No preparation required.
Discovery meeting
We go through what you own, what you owe, what you earn, and what you want. In person at Courthouse Square or by video.
Plan presentation
Your written plan: the income strategy, the investment proposal, the tax moves, and the order to do them in. Then you decide.
Reviews and check-ins
Two scheduled reviews a year, a call whenever something changes, and a plan that is updated, not filed away.
The first meeting is on us.
Bring your statements or bring nothing. The purpose is to understand your situation and show you how we think. You will leave with a clear next step either way, and no obligation.
Schedule a conversationThree advisors. No sales department.
Every advisor holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and works with a limited number of households by design.
Walter Ashby, CFP®
Started the firm in 2009 after fifteen years at a regional bank, where he decided the advice should not depend on what was being sold that quarter. Works mostly with households in the five years around retirement.
Margaret Lindqvist, CFP®, CPA
Leads the tax side of every plan: withdrawal order, Roth conversions, charitable giving, and the coordination with your own accountant. Joined in 2014 from a Brindle County CPA practice.
Claire Osei, CFP®
Builds and maintains the written plans and runs the one-time planning engagements. The person most clients hear from between reviews.
Asked at nearly every first meeting.
What does fee-only mean?
You pay us directly, and nobody else pays us anything. No commissions, no referral fees, no revenue from the funds we recommend. The only money we receive is the fee on this page.
Do you have a minimum?
For ongoing management the household minimum is $500,000 in investable assets. If you are not there yet, the one-time retirement plan is open to anyone.
Will you take over my accounts?
No. Your accounts stay in your name at an independent custodian. We have authority to trade and to deduct our fee, and nothing else. You can see every holding and every transaction any time.
What happens at the first meeting?
We listen. You tell us what retirement looks like to you, what worries you, and what you have today. We ask questions and explain how we would approach it. There is no charge and no pressure to decide that day.
Can I work with you from outside Brindle County?
Yes. About a third of our clients meet with us by video. The plan, the reviews, and the paperwork all work the same way.
How do I check your registration?
Our Form ADV, which describes our services, fees, and any disciplinary history, is on file with the SEC and linked in the footer of this page. You can look up any adviser at adviserinfo.sec.gov.
